UBB refers to the safe code that replaces HTML code in the forum.
This code uses regular expressions to match. Different forums may use different UBB codes and cannot be generalized. The emergence of UBB code allows forums to use HTML-like tags to add text attributes, while not having to worry about the bad information contained in HTML code!
There is no clear standard for UBB. There are many types of UBB on the Internet with different syntax.
UBB tags are a variation of HTML tags that you may already be familiar with. Basically, they allow you to add functionality or style to your posts that would otherwise require HTML tags. Even if your forum does not allow HTML tags, UBB tags can still be used. Because they require less coding skills than HTML, you may prefer to use UBB tags even if the forum allows HTML tags.
You cannot mix HTML and UBB tags in the same feature. UBB tags are also case-insensitive (so you can use uppercase or lowercase).
